ADSL LINKS

An exciting new partnership between the Parish, Open Door Community Adult Education Resource and Birley Community College means that the Church Hall will have its own ADSL link and hub. By using laptop computers, which can be brought to the Hall when needed, our partners are planning to run adult education classes in the hall. We are hoping to use the net for a Benefits advice service, using on-line enquiry facilities. At the start, this will be during Day Centre and Parent And Child Group. After School Club members will be able to use the Internet to help with their homework.

SUPPORT GROUPS and CLASSES

Because of this partnership,  we plan to run the following support groups and courses during the Spring

COPING WITH PARENTHOOD -- A Survival Method   Support Group for Parents of Children under 5

BASIC FOOD HYGIENE AND HANDLING   (Run in Association with Sheffield Adult & Continuing Learning Service) for those who are working with or want to work with food either as volunteers or as a paid job. (This course starts on 18th Feb -- for further details Click Here or to book a place, please, either 'phone the Rectory -239 9555- or e-mail rector@frechevilleparish.org.uk  )

COPING WITH AUTHORITY or "DON'T LET THEM GRIND YOU DOWN"     For those having to deal with authority, especially those whose houses are being demolished as part of the SWAN Redevelopment

Full Details will be published (with links from the "Organisations" page)  as soon as they are available

HOLIDAY PLAYCARE and SUMMER PLAYSCHEME

Holiday Playcare runs from Monday 13th to Friday 20th February (both dates inclusive).

Further details on the "Organisations" page within the next few days

History and Links page

We have started to publish a history of the Parish and of the church, including its links with St. James', Derwent -- flooded under the waters of the Ladybower Reserviour.  Click Here

As well as having the history of the Parish and of the area, the History and Links page will be the gateway to links with the community and other sites of interest.
